Jason Chambers Denies Hooking Up with RHOSLC’s Heather Gay: “What Happens in Sydney Stays in Sydney”

Captain Jason Chambers is clearing up the rumors about his connection with Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Heather Gay.

During a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live! with Andy Cohen, the Below Deck Down Under captain was asked about Gay’s shocking on-air claim that the two had “f—– around” in the past.

“The number one question, Jason — how did you feel when you heard Heather say that you two had knocked knees?” Cohen asked. Chambers laughed before responding, “We hung out in Sydney, as you know. We went down there for Bravo… What’s in Sydney stays in Sydney, you know?”

However, when Below Deck star Daisy Kelliher pressed him to confirm whether the hookup story was true, Chambers was quick to shut it down.
“No, it’s not true,” he clarified. “But what a friendship! Beautiful people, so funny, and we had such a great time hanging out. I’m glad the friendship grew to the point that they wanted to come on the boat for a charter.”

Heather Gay’s “Drunken Confession” on RHOSLC

The speculation started on the October 28 episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, when the cast took a vacation on a luxury yacht run by Chambers and his Below Deck Down Under crew in the Grenadines.

During a wild night on the yacht, Gay, 51, clung to Chambers’ back and joked that she’d “ride him like a f—— bronco.” Her co-star Britani Bateman, who had shown interest in Chambers earlier, seemed upset, leading Gay to blurt out, “Jason and I are friends, we have a history. We’ve f—– around before — there’s nothing there.”

When Bateman pushed for clarification, Gay backtracked, saying, “We’re friends. I’m saying we’re friends. There’s latitude.”

Later in her confessional, Gay seemed surprised to hear what she had said. “I said that? You can’t use that. I don’t know why I said that — delete, delete!” she exclaimed.

What’s Next for RHOSLC and Below Deck

Despite the rumors, Chambers insists their relationship is purely platonic and full of respect. Fans can catch more of the crossover between the RHOSLC ladies and the Below Deck Down Under crew in the upcoming season.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo. The yacht trip will also be featured on Below Deck Down Under season 4, premiering in 2026.
