Kelly Stafford is stepping back from The Morning After podcast, announcing an indefinite hiatus as she refocuses on her family and supports her husband, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, during a demanding NFL season.
The 36-year-old mother of four shared the news on the podcast’s official Instagram on Wednesday, Nov. 26, expressing that she has recently felt “a pull to get back to my roots” and wanted to pour more of her time into the people who matter most.
In a heartfelt three-part message to what she called her “amazing TMA community,” Kelly explained that she has been reflecting deeply on gratitude—both for the chaos and blessings of life and for the loyal listeners who have stood by her throughout her journey.
Kelly recalled launching the podcast over four years ago “with a crappy mic, zero editing, and zero clue what I was doing,” emphasizing that her mission had always been to help other moms feel seen instead of comparing themselves to the unrealistic perfection often shown on social media.
The podcaster, who shares daughters Hunter, Tyler, and identical twins Sawyer and Chandler with Matthew, said the purpose behind The Morning After is just as meaningful today as it was when she started. “This space has been exactly what I needed,” she wrote. “It has been unbelievably good for me and, more importantly… my family.”
But now, she says, it’s time to shift gears. “I feel this pull to get back to my roots, and to do that, I have to pour into the people I love most.”
Kelly also acknowledged that Matthew is currently in “the middle of one hell of a season,” adding that she wants to be fully present for him and for their daughters. “I want to give my whole heart to the people who have always given theirs to me,” she explained.
Still, the pause isn’t permanent. Kelly reassured fans that this isn’t a farewell—just a break. “It’s not a goodbye. It’s a ‘see y’all later,’ ” she wrote, hinting that The Morning After may return in a new form someday.
She closed her message by thanking listeners “for letting me grow, change, fall apart, rebuild, and evolve right alongside you,” and signed off with “RIUTA,” a nod to one of her signature podcast segments.
