Nick Offerman is reuniting with Amy Poehler — but he admits he’s a little nervous about it.
While walking the red carpet at the New York premiere of his new Netflix miniseries Death by Lightning, the 55-year-old actor told PEOPLE that he’ll soon appear on Amy Poehler’s popular podcast Good Hang.
Offerman revealed that he’s already scheduled to record the episode but confessed to feeling some jitters about being interviewed by his Parks and Recreation co-star and longtime friend.
“We keep in touch, but I’m a little daunted. It’s like being interviewed by your sister,” Offerman shared. “I’m excited to see her, and I’m crazy about Amy. I just wanna do a good job.”
The Parks and Recreation duo — who starred together from 2009 to 2015 — have stayed close since the NBC comedy wrapped. They even reunited to co-host the craft competition show Making It from 2018 to 2021.
Poehler, 54, launched Good Hang earlier this year, kicking off with Tina Fey as her first guest in March. Since then, she’s welcomed an impressive lineup including Adam Scott, Selena Gomez, Regina Hall, and Kristen Wiig.
Offerman joked that he hopes to avoid “committing one of [his] usual faux pas” during the podcast taping.
“Her podcast is suddenly such a huge platform, and so, I just hope I don’t commit one of my usual faux pas,” he said with a laugh.
Beyond his podcast nerves, Offerman has been busy promoting Death by Lightning, the new Netflix miniseries about the presidency and assassination of James Garfield. Michael Shannon stars as Garfield, while Offerman takes on the role of Vice President Chester Arthur.
The actor revealed that he gained about 20 pounds and wore an “incredible fat suit” to accurately portray Arthur’s appearance.
“It’s not a crazy amount, so it just sort of tapped into hedonism,” Offerman explained. “When you let yourself go like Chester Arthur, it creates a more slovenly demeanor, where you kind of let yourself drape over a chair with a little more abandon.”
Fans also recently spotted Offerman in a heartwarming viral moment — surprising his Parks and Recreation co-star Jim O’Heir on a flight to Minneapolis. Offerman grabbed the plane’s PA system to hilariously reference O’Heir’s beloved character, Jerry Gergich.
O’Heir later posted a selfie from the moment on Instagram, calling it “awesome.”
As Offerman prepares to chat with Poehler on Good Hang, fans are excited to see the two comedy favorites share the mic once again — proving that their Parks and Rec bond is still as strong as ever.
Death by Lightning is currently streaming on Netflix.
