Sharon, Kelly and Jack Osbourne Open Up About Ozzy’s Death “Grief Is More Horrible Than We Imagined”

Sharon, Kelly and Jack Osbourne Reflect on Ozzy’s Death in Emotional Podcast: “Never Realized How Horrible Grief Is”

The Osbourne family has returned to their podcast with a deeply emotional episode — one dedicated entirely to the late rock legend, Ozzy Osbourne, who died in July 2025 at the age of 76.

On Wednesday, November 12, Sharon, Kelly, and Jack Osbourne released the first new episode of The Osbournes podcast in over a year. Sitting around a large wooden table surrounded by magazines and photos of the Black Sabbath frontman, the family opened up about their heartbreak, cherished memories, and the healing process that followed Ozzy’s death.

Ozzy’s official cause of death was a heart attack, though he had battled several medical issues in recent years, including Parkinson’s Disease.

Kelly Osbourne: “I Never Knew I Could Miss Someone So Much”

Kelly Osbourne, 41, spoke through tears as she described the overwhelming grief she’s felt since losing her father.

“I never realized just how horrible grief is,” she said. “I never knew I was capable of loving somebody so much and missing somebody so much. I just never thought there’d be a day where he wouldn’t be here.”

Her mother, Sharon Osbourne, gently responded, “But then how blessed are you to have had a dad like him?”

Sharon Osbourne Struggles to Sleep Without Her Husband of 43 Years

Sharon, 73, who shared more than four decades of marriage with Ozzy, admitted that she still struggles with loneliness.

“I hate going to bed at night,” Sharon said. “I mean, I slept with you for the first two months so that you weren’t alone,” Kelly added. “But then I felt like you needed some space.”

Mornings Are the Hardest: “That’s When I Remember Everything”

Kelly shared that mornings remain the most painful time of day.

“I wake up and for the first three seconds, I feel normal,” she revealed. “Then I remember everything. Mornings are the hardest because that’s when I spent the most time with Dad.”

She added that her young son Sidney, 3, has been a source of comfort:

“I’m so grateful that Sidney got to meet him — and that they had such a special little relationship.”

Jack Osbourne, 40, who is also a father, agreed. “Having the kids has been a huge help,” he said.

Jack Osbourne on Finding Gratitude Through Loss

Jack reflected on how grief has changed his perspective on life.

“It’s both horrible and beautiful,” he explained. “It forces you to unpack and examine things. Yeah, it sucks that he’s gone, but it’s also led to gratitude and love — really cherishing moments you used to take for granted.”

The World Mourns Ozzy Osbourne

The family said they were deeply moved by the outpouring of love from fans worldwide.

“I haven’t seen anything like it since Princess Diana died,” Kelly admitted. “It’s been so helpful to know the world loved him as much as we did.”

Sharon added that Ozzy himself would have been amazed by the global reaction:

“He wouldn’t believe it. He didn’t realize how loved he was — and that was his beauty. He never took it for granted.”

Remembering the Prince of Darkness

From his groundbreaking work with Black Sabbath to his solo success and unforgettable reality-TV fame, Ozzy Osbourne remains one of rock’s most iconic figures. The Osbourne family’s heartfelt tribute reminds fans everywhere of his enduring legacy — not just as a performer, but as a husband, father, and friend whose impact will never fade.
