Reese Witherspoon is giving major props to her longtime friend Jennifer Aniston for her grace, positivity, and lasting friendships — even with her exes.
During her November 3 appearance on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast, the Morning Show actress opened up about Aniston’s welcoming personality and her ability to maintain strong relationships throughout her life.
Co-host Monica Padman noted that Aniston had appeared on the podcast just weeks earlier, prompting Witherspoon, 49, to share how their friendship has evolved over the years.
“We’ve known each other so long, and we’re very different people,” Witherspoon said, laughing as Shepard sang, “Opposites attract.”
Witherspoon went on to praise Aniston’s emotional maturity and kind spirit.
“She’s not who people think she is — she’s not holding on to old things,” the Legally Blonde star said.
When Shepard jokingly added, “She’s not pining for Brad Pitt,” Witherspoon agreed, saying, “No, she’s doing great.”
The actress then recalled attending Aniston’s 50th birthday celebration, a night that truly captured the Friends alum’s ability to stay on good terms with nearly everyone in her life.
“At her 50th birthday, people from her teenage years, her 20s, everyone she’s ever worked with, every ex-husband, ex-boyfriend was there,” Witherspoon shared. “It’s the biggest testament to what a wonderful person she is. She’s a high spiritual integrity person.”
Shepard agreed, calling Aniston “not a burner of bridges.”
Aniston, 56, was famously married to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005 and later to Justin Theroux from 2015 to 2018. Recently, she confirmed her relationship with hypnotherapist and life coach Jim Curtis.
Witherspoon also described her friend as “really warm and welcoming,” adding, “She’s like a big host — very friendly and nurturing.”
The Big Little Lies actress laughed when Shepard reminded her that Aniston once compared her to Tracy Flick, her ambitious character in the 1999 movie Election.
“I’m a straight-A student,” Witherspoon joked. “If there’s a challenge, I’ll take it. But I’ve softened — life does that to you.”
Reflecting on their 25-year friendship, Witherspoon concluded,
“Jen’s always been lovely, kind, and warm. She’s been through her own stuff and still manages to show up for people. That’s rare.”
Both actresses continue to star together on Apple TV+’s hit series The Morning Show, proving that their real-life bond is just as strong off-screen.
