Tina Knowles is celebrating a true family collaboration in her latest holiday campaign.
The 71-year-old businesswoman and Matriarch author stars in a new Ulta Beauty holiday commercial promoting Beyoncé’s Cécred hair-care line, and fans were quick to notice that she shows off some surprisingly smooth vocals. But according to Tina, she had a little help from the most talented family in entertainment — Beyoncé and Blue Ivy Carter.
In an Instagram post shared Wednesday, Nov. 26, Tina revealed that she was actually battling a sinus infection while filming the commercial. To make sure she sounded her best, Beyoncé brought her into the studio and personally produced her vocals for the festive reimagining of “The 12 Days of Christmas.”
“My sweet daughter Beyoncé took me into her studio and produced my vocals on ‘Five Golden Things’ because I actually had a sinus infection when I shot my part,” Tina wrote.
“So she and Blue produced the harmonies to make me sound a little better.”
Tina joked that without their help, the internet would’ve roasted her:
“Y’all would’ve talked a bunch of stuff about me if I would’ve sounded bad!”
She also shared that her granddaughter Blue Ivy, 13 — whom Tina lovingly calls her “manager” — teased her throughout the process.
“My Blue said, ‘Grandma, you are going to be a meme!’”
Despite the playful teasing, Tina said the late-night studio session turned into one of the funniest moments they’ve ever shared together.
“I don’t think I’ve ever laughed as much as we did that night. A Virgo and two Capricorns — a lot of earth energy!”
The Ulta commercial features celebrities including Kylie Jenner, Paris Hilton, and Khloé Kardashian, each singing lines about the store’s popular holiday products. Tina performs lyrics centered on Cécred’s Restoring Hair & Edge Drops and Nourishing Hair Oil, earning a vocal compliment from stylist David Lopez.
“Girl, you can sing,” Lopez tells her.
Tina replies with a smile, “Well, you know it runs in the family!”
Tina has long bragged about the talents of her grandchildren, especially Blue Ivy. In a recent interview at the Elizabeth Taylor Night of Compassion in Los Angeles, she praised Blue’s artistic range — from poetry to painting to music.
“She can do so many things… anything she puts her mind to,” Tina shared. While she believes Blue Ivy would “kill it” in music, she doesn’t think it’s her main passion — which only highlights how multi-talented the young teen truly is.
With a holiday commercial now featuring three generations of the Knowles–Carter family working together behind the scenes, Tina Knowles proves once again that talent, creativity, and plenty of laughter definitely run in the family.
