Trump Withdraws Endorsement of Marjorie Taylor Greene, Calls Her a “Ranting Lunatic” as GOP Rift Deepens

Former President Donald Trump has officially pulled his endorsement from longtime ally Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, marking the most dramatic public split yet between the two Republicans after months of growing tension.

In a lengthy Truth Social post shared Friday, Nov. 14, Trump announced he is “withdrawing” his support for the Georgia congresswoman who represents the state’s 14th district.

“I am withdrawing my support and Endorsement of ‘Congresswoman’ Marjorie Taylor Greene,” Trump wrote, before touting what he described as his administration’s achievements.

Trump went on to criticize Greene’s behavior, saying she does nothing but “COMPLAIN,” and claimed her frustration began after he shared internal polling that showed she had no viable path to win a Senate or governor’s race in Georgia. He also said Greene has been upset that he no longer returns her calls, adding:

“I can’t take a ranting lunatic’s call every day.”

Greene Fires Back, Says Trump Is “Lying”

Soon after Trump’s announcement, Greene responded on X, accusing him of attacking her because she urged him to release the Epstein files. Greene shared texts she said she sent to Trump and aide Natalie Harp, pressing him to declassify documents tied to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

Greene claimed Trump is trying to scare Republicans before a scheduled vote on releasing those records:

“It’s astonishing how hard he’s fighting to stop the Epstein files from coming out.”

She insisted she remains a strong supporter of Trump but clarified:

“I don’t worship or serve Donald Trump.”

A Dramatic Breakdown Months in the Making

The fallout comes after Greene criticized Trump’s meetings with Syrian interim president Amad al-Sharaa, calling him a “former Al Qaeda terrorist.” She also urged Trump to prioritize domestic policy over foreign affairs.

Greene has increasingly clashed with other Republicans as well, opposing AI provisions in Trump’s signature “Big Beautiful Bill,” admitting she never read the legislation, and slamming Trump’s decision to strike Iranian nuclear sites.

“I’m sick of funding foreign everything,” Greene wrote in June.

Trump Signals Support for a Primary Challenger

Trump ended his post by stating he will fully back a primary challenger if the “right person” enters the race. He also accused Greene of drifting left:

“She has gone Far Left — even doing The View.”

His move echoes comments from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who recently claimed Greene is on a “revenge tour” after Trump declined to support her ambitions for a Georgia Senate run.
